I noticed on my goals list is I am missing goals 4, 6 and 7???!!
Where did they go? I'm not sure so I will get back to you on what they will be :).
My list of goals for this year were...
1) Develop and grow a Kickboxing class with KJM Jeremy.
My goal of developing and growing a Kickboxing program is off to a start but I have to give the credit to KJM. This has been one of the hardest things for me as I love to follow and find it hard to lead as I don't have the most confidence in myself. KJM is giving me the tools and the jump start I just need to push back the fear and lack of confidence and move it forward. I have spent a lot of time watching informational boxing videos and teaching techniques but what is in my way is my head. This goal is still a work in progress!
2) Cry -During the time it takes to achieve your goal you carry around emotional and physical pain, you hold back the tears and just keep moving forward no matter how hard it gets. You keep the door to your emotions and physical pain shut, because if you let it open, you know that you would give up. When all your hard work is validated, you’re finally free to just let go and relax. The sea of emotions that you built up, all come flooding in at the same time and you cry.
This goal has happened in an emotional way now all I need is the physical :). On May 11, 2019 I checked off goal number 5 to break a brick. The door to the emotional pain I had been harboring for the last 10 months, irrational worries and fears released the moments before I attempted the break. I imagined those emotions sitting there on top of that brick and on the other side, trust in my ability to handle life's painful experiences and resilience for moving through life’s challenges.
3) Improve my flexibility (possibly being able to do the splits :)
Due to dealing with Piriformis muscle issue this goal is still in progress. I'm working with a massage therapist and the chiropractor to get it healed
5) Break a brick!
Check!
8) Continue to attend, learn and grow from my anxiety classes.
Graduated from my class and continuing to put what I learned into practice. Check!
9) Touch base daily with one family member or friend to check in, say hi and let them know I am thinking of them.
I have been touching base with a family member or friend daily. Whether it be a quick text to say "I'm thinking of you", "you were on my mind today", "this made me think of you" or it being a phone call or email. It has really been so powerful. I have seen such a deepening of my relationships, the building of trust, understanding and love.
I have completed a "WOW" (I think it's considered a WOW :) by buying paint for the studio, sneaking in with Ami and Nathan and touching up the missing paint on all the walls.
