Who am I? One thing I'm not is a blogger :)
I don't blog or journal, although I probably should because with age comes forgetfulness. I'm not the best writer- that's my sister Kristi. She's an amazing writer. I will, however, have her proof my work :). How do I describe who I am? That question stumped me until I rephrased it “Michele style”: If Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs added an eighth dwarf (me), what would my name be? Now THAT’S easy to answer...I would be "Thankful". Thankful that I wake up every morning to both of my boys still safe at home and that I go to bed each night with my my snuggly fur babies curled up next to me. Thankful to hear my boys’ roaring laughter when they hang out together and their "Bye mom, I love you" as they head out the door. I am thankful for my loving, healthy family that supports each other through good and hard times and the comfort of knowing I can lean on them any time. I am thankful for old and new friends that embrace me without judgement and trust me with their own life stories. I am thankful for even the simple things- a roof over my head, food in the cupboard and the ability to pay my monthly bills ... and the fact that I can call these “simple things.” I am thankful for the warmth of the sun, the happiness I feel from Mickey Mouse, Disneyland, Storm Troopers and spring days when I work in my yard. I am thankful for dirt tracked in the house, dishes in my sink, hairs on the counter after the boys have shaved, and towels on the floor because those are signs that we are living each day. I am thankful I get to clean up after them and that I love doing it and for the times my boys surprise me with clean laundry because they know I don’t love doing that (I would be very thankful for the invention of disposable clothes though). I am thankful for life’s sweetest moments and deepest pains that have challenged my mental and emotional strength and allowed me to learn about myself. I am thankful for the opportunity to test for my first degree black belt at DMA, for the physical ability to be able to do it and the amazing people on this journey with me.
